I applied for an internship do I need to followup?

I applied for an internship dealing with computer science and media. I sent my application in February 15th and a week later they emailed to confirm that they had received the application and that they would let me know if i had been selected, before April 10th. Right now im wondering if I need to followup and if so whats the best method to do that?
