Why are elderly men so stubborn about getting hearing aids?

Eh? What? What annoys me is that my wife is going deaf and wil not admit it. All my siblings were deaf in their 50s and my father was deafened by wounds from WW1 in 1917,but it was through my mother's genes that we are all deaf. My youngest brother was the only one who held out of going to be tested
