Pain from Dental Crown?

I had 6 crowns put on my upper front teeth for cosmetic reasons about a week ago. The first few days I had no sensitivity at all. Then one tooth started to become a little sensitive. Now, I am in excruciating pain with this one tooth. The dentist told me sensitivity would be normal for a few weeks but I don't think it should be this painful. I am supposed to go back to the dentist next week for a followup but I don't know if I can stand it that long and no dentist office will be open until Tuesday.
