Before going to the ER, I suggest calling your doctor's office for an earlier appointment. Any doc worth going to realizes the urgency of evaluating someone with sudden onset of blurry vision. ERs vary. An ER doc with time may run necessary diagnostic tests, but strictly speaking, they should best be reserved for immediate emergencies. It's a sad day for community medicine when the docs are too busy to see patients urgently.
