Can't stand her. help?

ok so my older sister moved down almost 2 years ago and when it started out we were close but lately i have been hardly able to stand her. We have only 3 things in common SOME music, Some t.v shows, and guys. I feel like i cant talk to her about anything because conversations always wrap into a debate or politics of some sort. She gets very sensitive and i can't tell her the truth with ought her thinking im some brat and i snot even speak the truth rudely i even try to joke about it somehow and in the end she gets upset. lately i haven't been able to stand her and i Just dint now why. I have thought about hanging out with her and bonding but wed have hardly anything to bond over. and sometimes shes rude and i get just as rude back because i hate being talked to like that. My parents knows she gets a little iffy when it comes to fully respecting me and they know shes sensitive but i just don't know what to do. I want us to be close but we clash badly. help :( also she is 10 years older
