Ectopic pregnancy and hope?

My boyfriend and I had been trying to conceive for 7 months and finally I missed a period and found out we were pregnant I was so excited! I got the sickness and being tired and loved every bit of it. when I went to the doctor found out I was 5 weeks and 4 days after followup test because my hcg levels were low it turned out to be an ectopic pregnancy, I was devasted because it was early and small I only had to do the injection and a few days later I started bleeding first light then heavy for about a week I'm not sure if u count that as a period or if that was just my body releasing my pregnancy. I really would love to try again and was curious how long I should wait any advice would be greatly needed.
