Redness around mouth after cut?
Hello!! I do work at a dermatology office and I do believe from what you are describing that you are having a reaction to the Polysporin. Quite some time ago we had to change all our wound care instructions for patients to NOT advise them to apply Polysporin or Neosporin on their wounds - as many people were having reactions to these ointments. So, in place of this, we now advise patients to apply Aquaphor healing ointment or a thin coat of pure Vaseline. You should discontinue the Polysporin right away, use gentle cleanser on it and if you can, apply either the Aquaphor (preferably) or the Vaseline.
